How To Connect With My Intuition

22 de marzo de 2024

In a world full of distractions and constant noise, we often find ourselves disconnected from our inner wisdom. However, intuition is a powerful tool that we all possess and can guide us in moments of uncertainty and decision-making. In this article, we will explore how we can reconnect with our intuition and cultivate a habit to access this source of inner knowledge.

What is intuition?

Intuition is the ability to perceive or understand something directly, instantly, and without the need for logical reasoning or detailed analysis. It is a form of knowledge that arises spontaneously, often as a hunch, a gut feeling, or an internal sensation. Intuition can manifest through emotions, physical sensations, or sudden thoughts that seem to come from a deeper place in our consciousness. It is a powerful tool that guides us in decision-making, warns us of potential dangers, and connects us with our inner wisdom. It is the way our Higher Self or Soul communicates with our rational mind, our human dimension. We could say it is the voice of our conscience, but not from a place of duty or morality, but from authenticity with our essence. It is the voice that allows us to access what is true for our soul and may not necessarily be true for others.

Perceive the Signs

To tune into your intuition in everyday life, it is necessary to perceive through your body, your emotions, and your thoughts. You need to activate all your senses. Pay attention to hunches, dreams, and meaningful coincidences. When you start paying attention to the signs, you begin to understand the perfect synchrony behind events that to the rational mind might seem isolated or unrelated. Many times these signs are confirmed by external factors, such as the appearance of a white feather, seeing the time in the mirror, or seeing repeated numbers. In that case, the signs no longer only come from your intuition, but they are your guides and guardians letting you know they are with you, that you are not alone, and that you are on the right path. Many times you receive signs through song lyrics, reading material, or a scene from a movie or series you happen to be watching, and there you receive an answer you were needing.

Ask and you shall receive

The more you open yourself to receive these kinds of signs, the more signs you receive. And once you learn to identify them, you can voluntarily ask your guides or even your own soul to send you signs. Every time you feel loneliness, confusion, despair, or bewilderment... every time you need guidance to make a decision or take action, you can ask for assistance through prayer or meditation, in the way that resonates most with you. Then you just need to be open to receive.

Intuition or thought?

Many times, we doubt whether the voice in our mind telling us "it's this way" is really our intuition or just our conditioned thought. To distinguish them is very simple: the voice of intuition gives you peace, tranquility, and clarity to know which way to go, you feel encouragement and security; whereas the voice of your rational thoughts will feed your insecurities, fears, and often encourage you to follow the known paths even when a part of you knows you don't want to go there. It is very important to develop internal listening, and even listen to your body: the voice of your intuition brings you openness and lightness, while with the voice of the rational mind, you will feel the body closing, going on alert, and feeling heavy.

Practices to develop intuition

Dedicate time each day to meditate, breathe consciously, and be fully in the present moment. Mindfulness allows you to release thoughts and worries that obstruct the connection with your intuition, creating space to receive clarity and guidance. Introspection helps you delve into your internal knowledge and align your actions with your true desires and purposes. Another great ally for these practices is contact with nature: try to go to a park, beach, trail, or mountain. If you live in a city with limited access to green spaces, simply breathe the outdoor air and let the sun rays or raindrops caress your skin. Another exercise is called "morning pages," which involves having a notebook on your bedside table with a pencil or pen and upon waking up, freely write 3 to 4 pages, letting your hand simply express itself, without thinking too much or putting intention into the writing. This serves as a way to "empty" your mind, making space for you to listen more clearly to the voice of your intuition. Finally, activities that require your creative skills - especially artistic ones - are very helpful for connecting with intuition as they encourage the use of the right hemisphere of the brain and reduce the rational activity of the left hemisphere.

Advanced connection with the voice of your soul

If you are interested in deepening your connection with your intuition, the next step is to access your soul's memories through the Akashic Records. In the previous entry of this blog, I go into depth on this topic.

Practice makes perfect

Remember that the ability to listen to your intuition is something you were born with, it just dims as we grow if its practice is not cultivated. As you begin to foster this skill, you will see that you will increasingly do it with greater naturalness and wisdom.
